Leroux Creek Vineyard is a hive of activity from Spring into Fall. Daily events include Wine Tastings at the Vineyard. Weekly Petanque is available on Tuesday evenings. The Wine Maker’s Dinners are very popular among guests and visitors to the Leroux Creek Vineyard. The West Elks American Viticultural Area (AVA) events held at the Vineyard include the North Fork Uncorked in June and West Elks Wine Trail in August.
Wine Maker’s Dinners:
The Wine Maker’s Dinners are held on Wednesday’s throughout the season at Leroux Creek Inn and Vineyards. Yvon prepares a “Classic French Cuisine” using all local produce and meat or fish from the organic farms and ranches in Delta County. His dinners are four to five courses.
Join us at the Vineyard for Tuesday evening game of Pétanque, pronounced “pay-tonk.” Petanque is one of Europe’s most popular outdoor games. Related to the Italian bowling game of “bocce” and horseshoes. In the early 1900’s, Pétanque originated in Southern France. The goal is to toss, or even roll a number of hollow steel balls or “boules” as close as possible to a small wooden ball that is the target or “cochonnet.” Players take turns, with those ending nearest to the target wooden ball is the winner.
A game of Pétanque adds to the enjoyment of the moment with views of our diverse landscape with canyons, mesas, and mountains that seem to go on for ever.
